The first week of October saw another successful planning application for the Houseplansdirect / Cadtech Design team. Our Powys planning application, seeking approval of a modest family home in the town of Presteigne, was approved by the local council’s Planning Committee after a hearing at County Hall in Llandrindod Wells.
The Committee backed the planning officer’s recommendation to approve the scheme almost unanimously. Having purchased the site near Presteigne St Andrews football club earlier this year, clients Mr. & Mrs. Griffiths were delighted to finally be given the go-ahead to start work after several months of negotiation. The design, based on our Kingstone house plan, was well received and considered to be a sympathetic addition to the area.
On behalf of our clients, we would like to thank Powys County Council’s planning department for their positive and proactive approach to the application.
Our planning application service offers an economical solution to those seeking planning approval. In this instance, outline approval had already been granted, so the principle of development was already in place. Normally, this would mean that subsequent approval of what are known as the ‘reserved matters’ – ie elements of the design not covered an outline application – should be fairly straightforward. Objections from neighbours meant that approval was less assured, but in the end the committee agreed that there were no valid reasons to refuse the application.
If you have a site you wish to develop for yourself or to sell on with planning permission, we have an excellent track record of obtaining planning approval. See our Planning Service page for more information, or Contact Us to find out more.
