Busy week at the HPD offices, with multiple planning and building regs applications on the go. Also working on some new designs which will be ready soon. Highlight of the week however was producing a rendered fly-through of a luxury design to be built in Zimbabwe!
Designing a house in Zimbabwe is actually something we’ve done before: in 2015, we worked with River Africa to design accommodation for volunteers working on their projects. We have also worked with clients building in South Africa, Kenya and Malawi in the past.
But back to the present day – this project was fascinating and a test of our new real-time rendering software. Producing photorealistic images for our website is one thing, but this was a new challenge! The end result was a 5-minute walkthrough video taking in all of the individual rooms. We hope to be able to show it to you with the client’s approval, but in the meantime, here are some sneak previews:
The brief from the client was clear: being based in the UK, he needed to be able to visualise his home so he could work with the contractors building it. We painstakingly created a model which allowed him to do just that. The impressive entrance, with marble flooring and views through to the back yard, was the starting point. The elaborate staircase with glass balustrading and open treads. The huge Master Suite with balcony and views to the rear. The Master Bathroom with double shower and vanity sinks. We could go on! It was a great project to work on and certainly a step away from our normal work.
It’s fair to say that we do enjoy this kind of work though, so if you’re looking to build a luxury home in London, Harare, Cape Town or Rotherham, we can help! And don’t forget to stay tuned for the walkthrough video…
